What A Wet Week

It has been a wet week here.  So what did we do for fun?  We play in the rain, enjoy the cool fronts that come in with the rain, and we have friends over for good times.

Gavin learned to play in the rain with the dog this week.  We were supposed to have some strong storms but mostly we just had rain.  When it was good and warm the sky opened up and started raining.  I was nervous of a storm but when we just had rain I told Gavin to play in it.  I got looked at like I was a crazy person.  I proceeded to explain to him that when daddy and I were kids we played outside all the time, rain or shine.  So we made a game of it by running to the dog house or the grill, then he found out how fun it is to play in the rain.  Once they were done I had a dog and a kid to wipe off but it was worth it.  They had a blast.

We also had many friends over and went to other friends' houses this week.  We had our good friends Jody and Jayden that we love dearly (I will get a picture of them soon promise).  Jody's husband, Jason, was out of town, so we had them over for dinner since I just never see a reason for anyone to cook for just one person (or one and a half in her case).  The boys love to play a lot and Jayden really loves our dog (and it keeps them from getting one if Jayden gets to visit ours).  By the end of their evening with us Jason as able to come get some dinner when he got back.  I think all the boys and the dog were tuckered out after that.  The next night we had our neighbors over for dinner and cards (yay for the pies that Connie brought over).  We had to call it an early night because of the storms that were supposed to hit.  Here we are sitting and playing cards when all the sudden the radio beeps in with a tornado warning, shocked all of us.  Once that happened everything in our house went off, my phone (for weather alerts), the radio, the weather radio, etc.  They went home early to let their dogs out before it got bad.  So I let Carly out also and when the warning kept coming Sam and I decided to stay up until they were over.  Needless to say we did not get any bad weather here.  The alerts were like bad sequels to movies they were going off so much.  Since that ruined our night we visited the neighbors last night as well.

We went to community group last night as well (our version of Sunday school just not on Sundays).  It is not our last meeting with that group but we will not be going as often since we are going with our friends Jody and Jason to the group they are starting.  It was nice to hear about the mission trips that are going on.  Great praise to them for all of their hard work.  Maybe our family will do that sometime in the near future.

Finally we went to the Webb's house.  Gavin looked forward to that for the whole week.  Rachel was nice enough to lend me a dress and shoes (that I will totally have to practice walking in since I am not very in tune with my feminine side) that I am going to wear to my brother in law's wedding next month.  Thank you Lord for giving me Rachel in this case.  That was so awesome since I did not want to buy a dress lust yet (I still have a little bit of baby weight to loose).  Now since she was so nice and since she just had a little girl I am going to make her a hair bow for the cute little Warren to wear for her 3 month pictures (maybe I will snatch her sometime and do some picture of her too).

Well that was our week.  Busy busy busy but fun.  Now to work on some crafts and look at more ideas for cupcakes (for all these baby showers coming up).  I think I may practice some decorating ideas this weekend.  I will leave you with some pictures from this week.  I love Gavin falling asleep with his sister on our bed when I was getting ready one day.
