And the Beat Goes On

Our week has been a lot at home but not at home.  Make sense?

Ok so we have been next door helping the neighbors do some landscaping.  We helped lay timbers and bricks.  We have also helped them spread dirt.  Gavin has had a ball.

I have been a good/bad mommy all at the same time.  First Eliza got in the sun and I did not realize it because she was sleeping and not screaming at me to get her out of the sun (sometimes I think she is a mole).  So what happened???  By the next day my two month old baby had a slight sun burn on her face, so she got the aloe treatment.  Promise it went away very quickly.  I felt bad not putting sunscreen on her but I also have heard that you are not supposed to until they are a little older anyways.  So days a few days later what happens?  Gavin goes outside without a shirt for a whole day, plays with the dog and helps spread dirt.  Well, he ended up with a sunburn.  Now this is really making me look bad but we just don't use sunscreen in our house.  None of us tend to burn much but I guess the UV rays were just right to burn my kiddos.

Now as for their landscaping...it looks amazing.  Not that it looked bad before they started but it was just a bit stately when they prefer to have more color than just green.  Now they are looking at what to put in there.  I can't wait to help them with that.  I love to plant anything.

After all the hard labor over there we have had dinner with them a LOT!!!  Dinner Friday night, lunch Saturday, dinner Tuesday night.  Goodness.  One would think they would be sick of us but they sure do love Gavin a lot.  Gavin loves them so much he wanted to stay at their house the other night. To get him out of there we plotted together saying he would only get to eat vegetables if he stayed...to my disbelief he said ok.  Then I pulled the mom card and took him out of there kicking and screaming.  Oh dear let me tell you.  What a trip...a three year old kicking and screaming in one arm and a baby in the other.  I never could have pictured that.  He got over it very quickly but then proceeded to tell me that he forgot to eat his vegetables.  If that is what it takes for him to eat the vegetables, I will welcome it.  We really had to get home though.  Grandma Judy was coming over to have dinner with us.

Aside from that, Gavin has been painting in the backyard everyday and I have been staining the vanity cabinet in the master bathroom.  Wow, bad idea to do that when you are home with two kids, two cats, and a dog.  Keeping all of them out of the bathroom is crazy.  Just a little more to do and I am finished then on to the spare bathroom if I decide I am going to tackle it.  I have also been crafting.  I have made tutus and I am working on my first hair bows.  The hair bows are quite hard...sometimes I think my fingers are too big for them.

Tonight we had our friends the Rakers over for dinner, so here are a few shots of the boys. Also one of Gavin and Jason racing on the wii.  Fun times.  Gavin even beat Jason in two races.  I think my kid knows how to use electronics more than I do now.

My final thoughts for this post are:
1.)  I am getting my hair done Saturday...thank heavens...I have needed a trim for so long.
2.)  We are going to check out a day lily garden and see what kind of prices they have.
                       Ideas for next year.
3.)  FINALLY, H*** or as you all know it by, Walmart, had decided to take fabric again
at least at the Shelbyville, Ky store.
4.)  I found a quilt I want to start...me quilt, when???  Not sure what all to do but I am determined
to do this, after I get a job so I have the money to pay for the fabric.
